Useberry vs Userbrain: choose the output, then the plan

For a structured prototype question

Suppose the decision is whether users can find a particular action across several branches of a design. Useberry’s prototype and first-click documentation makes it relevant to that structured question. A first-click block ends at that initial interaction; it is not evidence that the user completed the whole journey. [S29] [S08]

Specify the observable task, asset version and result you want to inspect. A preference statement and a completed action answer different questions. Do not choose a study format solely because it produces a visually persuasive heatmap.

For a narrated attempt

Suppose instead that you need to watch someone encounter a prototype, attempt a task and explain their thinking. Userbrain documents supplying a Figma link and tasks for that kind of recording. Inspect the required artifact: full recording, selected clip, written response or structured export. Keep the desired artifact separate from whether an AI summary is convenient. A summary cannot make a missing recording available later.

For live interviews

Useberry’s June 2026 documentation includes paid-plan moderated interviews. That makes older descriptions of it as only unmoderated incomplete. Its documented own-user interview recruitment should not be silently extended to panel recruitment. [S06] [S07]

Team access is more nuanced than a seat headline
